Magic of the best kind. :)

Laurel, someone once said to me that depression is 'anger turned inwards,' and I think about that every time I'm down. When you say that you're on anti-depressants and yet you don't consider yourself depressed so much as angry, that rings all sorts of bells in me.

I'm hardest on myself. I cut myself no slack. And when I'm particularly disappointed in myself, I can't function. I think a lot of that is the source of my depression -- anger turned inwards.

Do you allow yourself to actually feel angry? Or do you stuff it down inside like I do for whatever reason?delaynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10606786002615861044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-456168418670274120.post-16490305166896073462012-02-09T19:46:37.040-06:002012-02-09T19:46:37.040-06:00Does an artist need to suffer in order to create b...Does an artist need to suffer in order to create beauty? If the depths weren't so deep, would the heights be so glorious?

I've never thought of myself as depressed, but I am on anti-depressants. I do know that I'm moody if left on my own. My biggest mood, though, is anger. Not sure why.

I'll take a little cream with my Earl Gray. I'll bring a little something in chocolate and cheesecake.

And how about a hug?Laurelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00586134144618577041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-456168418670274120.post-87753595190851173372012-02-05T18:37:25.860-06:002012-02-05T18:37:25.860-06:00Your honesty is wonderful and I thank you for talk...Your honesty is wonderful and I thank you for talking about it. And for that, I'll make some fresh-baked cookies for your Earl Gray. Just give me a sec, 'k?, and while you're waiting, I know of a crap ton of books you can peruse. :)delaynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10606786002615861044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-456168418670274120.post-19502402161542302152012-02-03T13:47:58.923-06:002012-02-03T13:47:58.923-06:00I am glad you feel you can be honest in your writi...I am glad you feel you can be honest in your writing as well as your art. I understand your doldrums but as far as cute remarks go I will keep mine to this: I love a good cup of Earl Gray and will happily take three cookies thank you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
